Because of the weather, as a precaution, each of the 4,000 candles were placed in plastic cups (later collected for reuse) containing sand, which were then positioned in the paper bags.

Dok'ku is the Butchulla word for the Mary River Cod - and the diamond and lines are special symbols in their culture. The diamond is the symbol for the diamond scaled mullet - a fish which represents the link between the river and the sea.
